Most Maldives resorts share their water. Meradhoo doesn't, in any meaningful sense: it sits in Huvadhoo Atoll in the country's deep south, roughly an hour's flight beyond the seaplane belt where the vast majority of resorts cluster. Domestic schedules don't run around the clock, so your international arrival time matters — land too late and you'll be overnighting in Malé. Seasonally, December through April brings the calmest seas and clearest water — the classic window, priced accordingly. Divers in particular shouldn't fear the off-season here.

Fly into Malé (Velana International), take a domestic flight of about 55 minutes to the deep south, then a short speedboat to the resort. Domestic flights don't operate around the clock, so aim to land in Malé by early-to-mid afternoon — otherwise plan a night in Malé and fly down fresh the next morning. We build this sequencing into every booking.
Families are welcome and the pool villas work well for them, but this is a small, quiet, couple-leaning island rather than a big family playground. If your children need a buzzing kids' club, waterslides and constant organized activity, a large family resort in Baa or North Malé Atoll will serve you better.
